We are delighted to share that FashionUnited has featured Christine Phung's new boutique-studio in the heart of Le Marais. The article highlights our new creative space, our independent approach to fashion, and the vision behind this new chapter.
"Christine Phung has opened a new creative boutique-studio in the heart of Le Marais, at 3 Rue Saint-Gilles in Paris's 3rd arrondissement, within Janaïna Milheiro's studio. The space will remain open until 30 September 2026, marking a new chapter in the development of an independent brand driven by a diverse creative practice.
The boutique-studio offers visitors the opportunity to discover the creative process while exploring and purchasing the collections. No manufacturing or prototyping takes place on-site. Instead, the studio is dedicated to design, collection development, and production management in collaboration with external workshops. Moodboards displayed throughout the space reveal the creative journey behind each collection.
In leather goods, Christine Phung, an ANDAM Prize laureate, works with surplus leather from Longchamp. As a result, the bags are produced in limited editions, with some styles limited to as few as ten pieces.
Behind the boutique-studio: the model of an independent designer
Previously manufactured in France, the bags are now assembled in Portugal. "Fashion stands at the crossroads of art, industry, and craftsmanship," Christine Phung told FashionUnited. "To build a sustainable business model, these three elements must be in balance. I therefore had to integrate industrial processes to create objects I could offer my clients at accessible prices, between €430 for a small model and €590 for a large one."
For textiles, Christine Phung is developing a line centred around the archetype of the unisex shirt, featuring women's buttoning. The prints on Italian silk are produced using digital inkjet printing in Italy, while the jacquards are woven in France. The remaining fabrics are upcycled.
"Colour elevates energy. It benefits not only the person wearing it, but also those who see it," says the designer.
