For her 6th collection “IT'S ABOUT A GIRL WHO RIDES HER BIKE ON A VOLCANO”, Christine Phung imagines the story of a woman who loves cycling above volcanoes. She loves unpredictable and dangerous nature. She likes that a rock can become liquid, that the interior of the earth projects outwards, that the earth can melt, like the blood under the skin when it pedals at full speed between the craters. She likes the lava which becomes filaments, is deposited in strata, and forms a new material which only asks to be tamed.
